Medicaid Made Simple.
Medicaid provides health coverage to millions of low-income New Yorkers. If you have both Medicare and Medicaid, you may qualify for additional benefits through a D-SNP plan.
What Is Medicaid?
Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that provides free or low-cost health coverage to eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities in New York State.
In New York, Medicaid covers a wide range of services including doctor visits, hospital care, prescription drugs, mental health services, and long-term care.
Have Both Medicare and Medicaid?
If you qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid (called “dual eligibility”), you may be eligible for a Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP). These plans combine both coverages into one plan and add extra benefits like up to $252/month for groceries and utilities.
